for Going My Way Spring Ficathon
Rose was on the library when The Doctor found her.
He'd been working on the TARDIS.
She'd wandered off to read.
She was sitting in one of the over-stuffed sofas the TARDIS had created for her.
"Is that eating you?" Asked The Doctor when he saw her.
She laughed. "It's not" she said, snuggling further into it "It's so comfy" he heard the pink-and-yellow blob said
"I love it"
He sat next to her, in a ordinary chair and pulled her out a little. "What are you reading?" he asked
She showed him the book cover and said "about Atlantis"
The Doctor smiled "Oh! Good old Lantis!"
"You've been there?" She asked,surprised
"Course I've been there!Many times. Lantians are great hosts."
"Is it real,then?" she asked, thoughtful
"All the best legends are" he said, excited
"You want to go? I haven't been there in ages!"
"Atlantis? but...can we breath there? I mean, isn't it under water?" she said,frowning
"It's got a force-field.Lantians are not fish-people. If you wanna go see them, though..."
"That's alright. I wanna visit Atlantis"
The Doctor took her hand and led her to the console room,
All the way talking about the city, the people,its customs,etc.
He was really excited.
As he set up, Rose played some music in the console
"Lantis,here we go!"
They stood in silence for a second as they listened to the music.
"What's this? It's nice music" he said
"It's about a woman who's trying to find the right man and she says that from her experience,it's easier to find Atlantis"
"Oh, that's kind of sad"
"Well,I like it. and it reminds me of how lucky I am. I found the right guy, and now I'm going to Atlantis" she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"It'd be nice if we actually get there" she added, grinning
The Doctor mirrored her smile
"You'll see, we'll land in the middle of the console room,you'll love it" he said.
"So, where are we going exactly?" she asked "To its height, the sinking, building,future,past?"
"I don't know" he confessed "I told the TARDIS to choose. You know how she gets with too-precise instructions"
The TARDIS musn't have liked that, cause a minute later they landed with a big crash, which dropped them to the floor.
"Ouch!" Rose yelled "This is your fault,Doctor!"
"Oi!How is it my fault?"
"You oughta be nicer to your ship!" she said, stroking the base of the console "It's sensitive,like a pet,you have to care and take care"
He held out a hand, helping her up, and stroking the console as well
"Sorry,old girl, it was just a joke, you know"
the TARDIS hummed,satisfied.
"ok,then" said Rose, running to the door. "let's go explore!"
The Doctor grinned and grabbed his coat,meeting her at the door.
"Would you like to do the honours?"
