So, the new Doctor?
My first impression is I liked him.
it's no perfect, but it doesn't disappoint. and considering I had rather low expectations, that's good.
It's very fast-paced and the plot is almost impossible to follow.
it has some really funny moments. I don't feel we know enough of 11 yet though. most of it was him on the fly, and most of it was remains of Ten,really.
he doesn't seem to be coming onto himself until the last few minutes, when he dresses, when he faces the attraxi, only then it feels like he is The Doctor. I'm not sure about the whole 'basically...run' it seems awfully arrogant.
he often seemed rather arrogant, rather douchey even, like keeping the worst traits of Ten. I hope this well, fades away.
Amy made a much better impression.I liked how it seems a different relationship, her knowing the Doctor since, well, forever.
I'm not sure what to think of the new series. it does look fun but it also looks really different, but I can't pinpoint different how.
I really didn't like the opening, the lightening and all that. absolutely ridiculous.
I rather enjoyed how everyone knew about the raggedy Doctor but it also worries me, since he clearly screwed her up, and I wonder how is it going to affect their relationship and how it has affected her personality.
I think I had more to say but I seem to have forgotten it.
COUPLING
I watched all four seasons of Coupling which I absolutely loved and laughed my ass off the entire time. and I ended up really shipping Patrick/Sally. They were wonderful. yes, I'm a sucker for best-friends-turned-otp.
it helped me build confidence in Moffat. yes, Who is a completely different show, but at least I have some clue as to how he writes.
the show was surprisingly funny and rather realistic. I like how the characters weren't flanderized like they so often are in american tv and I liked how one particular aspect that we'd never heard of before didn't suddenly become the object of the show for one episode never to be seen again. I hate that. it is a sitcoms but it is less ridiculous than sitcoms.
it reminded me of How I met your mother a lot, the characters, the ships, some of the situations, only weell, better.
HIMYM has been seriously flanderized in s5 and I'm still disappointed as to how they treated Robin and Barney.
I also had concern of Moffat's writing of women but he seems to be a lot less annoying in this show than he is in DW.
